High electricity costs led to unpredictable fluctuations in utility prices for Presto Steel Construct SRL, a company operating in the construction materials industry. This situation affected the predictability and stability of the company’s operational costs.
To mitigate these expenses and achieve greater energy independence, the company decided to install an efficient photovoltaic system. The primary goal was to generate solar-based electricity for self-consumption and, secondarily, to inject the surplus energy into the grid.
To address this challenge, Presto Steel Construct SRL partnered with WALTON ELECTRIC SRL, a trusted installer, to implement a 100 kWP photovoltaic system.
Technical features
Installation of 100 IBC modules, IBC SOLAR mounting system, Flexisun cables, Sungrow inverter, and a smart meter. With an efficiency of 22.3%, IBC modules ensure maximum conversion of solar energy into electricity.- Sungrow Inverters: Known for their high efficiency, these inverters convert the direct current generated by the panels into usable alternating current.
- Schneider Electric Components: the direct and alternating current switchboards from Schneider Electric guarantee optimal and safe system operation.
The result
The implementation of the photovoltaic system brought rapid and significant benefits to Presto Steel Construct SRL:

Besides the substantial reduction in dependence on the elecricity supplier, the project contributed to a more sustainable and efficient future for the company.
“We are all aware of the fluctuations in utility prices, so we strive to optimize them and ensure the predictability of operational costs. From the first days of operation, the system installed by Walton Electric using IBC solutions has covered between 60 and 65% of our daily energy needs, even when our activity continues at night. Thus, only 35-40% of the energy consumed during this time still comes from the grid,” said Stefan Cus, General Manager at PRESTO STEEL CONSTRUCT SRL.
