Right into the freezer and back. Well – with  an area of 30 square meters the freezer in this case is slightly bigger than the usual household devices. We are referring to a special test that we have performed on our mounting systems. We wanted to know the following: Will temperatures of  minus 20 degrees harm the rails and modules and can major icing cause frost damage? (more…)

The presentation of new and improved mounting systems was one of the focus points at this year’s Intersolar Europe. On all three days of the trade fair, we were able to welcome visitor groups at our booth as part of the “PV Guided Tours” presented by the online magazine PV Europe. “Mounting systems” blog series part 6: Flat roof heat insulation – How much of a burden can it handle?

Flat roofs are particularly well suited for the installation of a PV system – especially when a large PV system should be placed on the roof. More and more flat roofs are being equipped with PV systems; in the case of commercial business, they are usually for self-consumption. We have already discussed the installation of PV systems on flat roofs in part 4 of this blog series. What are the main components of a PV system? To be precise: Modules, inverters, the substructure. However, there are even more… plugs, fuses, terminal boxes… and a lot of solar cables. And these cables are exactly what our current blog article is all about. System planners solely focus all too often on the main components. These components must be of high quality and durable.
