If you look at the list of European countries that have attracted attention in recent years with a strong increase in solar energy, there is no way around Spain. No other country is currently experiencing such a large PV boom. Spain breaks its records of newly installed capacity year after year. For example, from 135 megawatts (MW) in 2017 to a total of 551 MW (2018). And the latest forecasts are also impressive and show a further increase in 2020 with 4.9 gigawatts (GW) of newly installed services. This means that by the end of 2020 the country will have a total photovoltaic output of 8.7 GW. But where does the strong growth come from? A market outlook: (more…)
Power-to-heat: heating with electricity has long been considered uneconomical and harmful to the climate. With the energy transition, the focus is once again on heat generation using self-generated green electricity. Both efficiency and cost-effectiveness are now under good auspices. Sector coupling is moving more and more into the spotlight and is already showing what our future green energy system can look like. (more…)
Like many other young people, I decided to opt for an apprenticeship after finishing school. After a successful application process, I started my apprenticeship as an industrial clerk in September 2019 at IBC SOLAR. A few months have passed since thenand I have settled in well in my first training department“Projects Germany”. This department is responsible for the development and implementation of large-scale photovoltaic and solar projects. But first, my name is Jennifer Will and I will describe to you in the following article what such a day during my training is like. (more…)
On Sunday, the 23.06.2019 the day had arrived. At 04h00 in the morning 14 students of the State Vocational School Lichtenfels and myself started the upcoming adventure at Nuremberg Airport for the next two weeks: A foreign internship in Plymouth. The young generation lead the way and are sending out a statement – they are committed to climate protection and want to prevent climate change and its effects. But also within the rest of the population, the green movement is growing and people are willing to make a step towards renewable energy, like using photovoltaic. This also makes the media listen up.
IBC SOLAR founder and CEO Udo Möhrstedt visited ZDF presenter Ralph Szepanski in Frankfurt and answered questions on the TV programme “The Business Debate” (welt.de) regarding “Using photovoltaics in a clean future”. Here, our CEO explains why a PV system pays off both in the commercial and residential sectors, how an energy management system works and what needs to happen in order to achieve our climate goals.
