Entering new international markets is always exciting. IBC SOLAR is already present in many countries, including Poland, the Netherlands, Spain, and Switzerland. This year, we are particularly pleased to further expand our international presence with new subsidiaries in France and Austria, as well as a majority stake in SOLARWORLD Africa.
Expansion into France
France, with its ambitious expansion goals and ideal climatic conditions, is an exciting market for photovoltaics. Until now, we have managed the market from our headquarters in Germany. With our new subsidiary in Lyon, we can now support our customers directly on-site. This means faster and more personalized service with reliable solutions along the entire solar value chain.
Strengthening the DACH region
We are now also represented in Austria with our own subsidiary in Vienna. The alpine region has special requirements, particularly for storage systems and stable mounting systems that are safe and reliable even under heavy snow loads. With our extensive product portfolio and dedicated team on-site, we are well-equipped to optimally support our customers.

Majority stake in SOLARWORLD Africa
Another exciting chapter of our expansion took place this spring in South Africa with the majority stake in SOLARWORLD Africa. The company, based in Cape Town, has been active in the market for over 40 years and enjoys a strong position on the African continent. The full takeover is planned for 2027.
“SOLARWORLD Africa has been a valued partner in South Africa for many years. With this investment, we are strengthening our local presence and expanding our collaboration in a market that is crucial for sustainable energy solutions,” says Patrik Danz, CSO of IBC SOLAR.
IBC SOLAR has been represented in South Africa with its own subsidiary since 2017. This acquisition allows us to further expand our market share in Africa, focusing on commercial projects, large-scale storage systems, and residential homes.
