In November 2025, we at IBC SOLAR, together with selected expert partners, had a very special opportunity: On invitation from Huawei, we were able to visit the company’s manufacturing and research facilities in Shenzhen, China. This exclusive trip gave our partners the chance to get to know Huawei as a brand and its innovative solutions up close, while also exchanging ideas with experts from around the world.
A look into the future of the solar industry
During the multi-day trip, all participants gained comprehensive insights into Huawei’s strategic direction. From residential to commercial & industrial, and up to the utility sector, we were shown the latest developments and trends in the solar and energy market. Particularly impressive was the direct insight into production and research: the tour included everything from inverter manufacturing to state-of-the-art testing facilities and the research & development campus.
Expert exchange and collaboration
Alongside visits to production and research facilities, the exchange with Huawei experts was a central focus. Our partners were able to gain valuable insights into product developments through open discussion rounds and feedback sessions. They also had the opportunity to ask their questions directly to the development and decision-making team – a highlight for everyone involved.
Exciting insights into culture and technology
Those who think the trip was only about technical insights would be mistaken. The cultural aspect was equally remarkable. Shenzhen, as an innovative economic hub in China, offers a fascinating perspective on technological and infrastructural progress, which in some areas is far ahead of Europe. At the same time, we were able to enjoy culinary highlights and gain a deeper impression of Chinese culture – a perfect mix of business and experience.
