In a world increasingly affected by climate change and environmental pollution, sustainability is becoming a central issue for companies worldwide. For us at IBC SOLAR, sustainability is more than just a buzzword; we also want to do our part: with our products, our actions, and our corporate culture. Therefore, last year we dedicated ourselves to a large and very comprehensive project: our first sustainability report.
Sustainability Report According to ESRS
The company’s first sustainability report holds great significance for us. Not only has a lot of work and passion gone into it, but it is also our first transparent step towards more environmentally conscious actions. In 2023, we were not yet required to create a sustainability report, but we wanted to proactively take this path. Thus, under the motto “Pioneering SUNstainability,” we published our first sustainability report according to the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) for the year 2023 at the end of last year. This is something we are very proud of.
Since our founding, we have enabled more sustainable energy production with our products and services. But that alone is not enough. With our vision of a “world worth living in” in mind, we also have our part to play. We must take appropriate measures to best combine efficiency and environmental awareness. In our sustainability report, we therefore provide comprehensive insights into our operations in 2023 and address key issues such as climate change, environmental pollution, circular economy, and the workforce in the value chain.
The sustainability report not only discloses our current sustainability performance but also defines our successes and areas for improvement for the coming years. At IBC SOLAR, we have set the following goals, among others:
- To cover our electricity needs 100% from green sources in the long term,
- To reduce our energy consumption by 10% by 2026,
- To record our Scope 3 emissions from 2025.
You can find the current 2023 sustainability report here. And this is just the beginning. Preparations for the 2024 report are already work in progress.
