Investment in a sustainable future

Today we are introducing a way for local citizens to participate in our solar parks. For this purpose, we have launched our own digital platform. Interested citizens can use this platform to find out about current projects and their conditions and to participate directly. Investment with smaller amounts is also possible. This ensures that everyone can play an active role in shaping the energy transition.

“Energy transition also belongs in the hands of residents. We have been of this opinion from the very beginning. People actually want to contribute to the generation of clean energy. If this is not possible with their own solar system on the roof, participation in solar parks offers a good alternative,” explains Udo Möhrstedt, CEO of IBC SOLAR AG.

Solar park Schnaid

The first project within the framework of the investment opportunity via IBC SOLAR is the Schnaid solar park, which will be built in the municipality of Hallerndorf in the district of Forchheim, Germany. Construction is scheduled to begin in summer 2023. The solar park with a capacity of 6.5 megawatt peaks will supply around 7,000 megawatt hours of green electricity per year. This saves 4,300 tons of CO2 emissions per year and is enough to supply more than 2,000 three-person households with green energy for an entire year.

In addition to the solar park in Schnaid, two projects with public participation are currently being planned in the immediate vicinity of Bad Staffelstein, where we are located, and more projects will follow.

Partnership with EUECO

On the technical side, we are working with partner EUECO on our participation platform. EUECO is one of the leading service providers in this field and provides a simple, digital way to make financial citizen participation scalable.

“We are proud to have gained IBC SOLAR as a new customer for our platform solution. Solar parks and citizen participation are perfect partners for a comprehensive energy transition and so we look forward to many more projects from our partner IBC SOLAR,” says Josef Bauer, CEO and founder of EUECO.

Christian Sinne, Team Leader Project Development Germany at IBC SOLAR underlines: “Such competence and partnership is an important building block for the success and transparency of our solar parks. In order for the energy transition to succeed, there must be a common direction for all parties involved, especially in the current situation. We need the change now, not when nobody can afford electricity anymore. Projects like ours ensure that electricity remains affordable.”
