Finally, it was the time again: The most important energy and environmental fair in Spain, the GENERA, took place in November. For us, this was a highlight of 2021, because of course we from IBC SOLAR were again represented with our own booth at the IFEMA exhibition center in Madrid and looked forward to personally welcoming our partners.
GENERA closed its 24th edition with more than 30,000 participants. Of these, around 20,000 attended in person – an increase of 8.5% compared to 2020. Then this year, around 10,500 people from a total of 62 countries participated digitally via GENERA LiveConnect. A look at the data provided by GENERA also shows the interest among visitors this year. Leading the way was the topic of self-consumption and storage (13.6% of visitors), followed by energy efficiency (11.9%) and mobility (4.5%) and ocean energy (2.8%).
Our trade fair presence was therefore in the right direction in terms of the Spanish market trend: this year, we focused particularly on private and commercial self-consumption solutions. The Meyer Burger module “Made in Germany” with the new HJT cell technology and our new mounting system AeroFix G3 also met with great interest among visitors. So did the hybrid and storage solution of our partner Sungrow and the demonstration of our PV MANAGER software.
