Solar power for Ukrainian school – fundraising campaign starts

A solar power system with a battery storage unit has been installed on a school in the Kyiv suburb of Irpin, which has been particularly impacted by the Russian war of aggression, and will go operational on Friday, 25 November 2022. The PV system was financed entirely by donations from the German solar industry. This marks the start of the solar industry’s fundraising campaign “Solar Aid”, which aims to make a contribution to resilience-building and reconstruction in Ukraine. (more…)

Investment in a sustainable future

Today we are introducing a way for local citizens to participate in our solar parks. For this purpose, we have launched our own digital platform. Interested citizens can use this platform to find out about current projects and their conditions and to participate directly. Investment with smaller amounts is also possible. Spain’s largest PPA roof PV installation

Today, we are presenting a special installation in Spain, which our colleagues at IBC SOLAR España have constructed. This is the largest roof installation to date for an On-Site Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) in Spain, which IBC SOLAR has implemented together with its partner Opengy. The 2.8 MW PV installation is located on the roofs of the international wood company Grupo Losán and generates 4,000 MWh of solar energy per year. (more…)

Sungrow hybrid inverters and batteries: tips for use

In recent months, there has been much turbulence on the global market and also in the PV industry. Persistent component shortages and delays within the supply chain have caused and continue to cause dissatisfaction. Sungrow is also feeling the effects of the global crisis, but the manufacturer of hybrid inverters and batteries is constantly working on solutions.  Sungrow has thus announced a generational change in the hybrid inverter at the beginning of September and is currently supplying other battery cells on the Asian market. Practising for emergencies

Solar parks are often surrounded by forests. In view of rising temperatures and prolonged drought, the risk of forest fires also increases here in the warm months. Accordingly, one must be well prepared for an emergency. Together with our O&M customer CEE Group, we wanted to know how quickly the fire brigade would get to the solar park in such an emergency, how they could enter the plant, which safety criteria were observed and how the fire brigade generally deals with solar parks in an emergency.
