Buy smart: 7 tips for purchasing future-proof modules

The module markets are starting to move again with the end of the minimum import price (MIP) for Chinese solar modules and under the impact of the current trade conflicts. For installers, this means: On the one hand, they can take a chance on the low prices. On the other hand, they have to take a particularly closer look at the product’s origin and guarantees. We have compiled 7 tips for solar installers for the purchasing of future-proof modules from a trustworthy source. (more…)

We expand quality tests for solar modules in our own laboratory with a loading table

Lately we have expanded our in-house quality control laboratory with a loading table for both, mechanical-static and dynamic testing. Modules can therefore not only be subjected to a load test alone, but also in conjunction with mounting systems. As a result, our in-house quality control becomes even more closely meshed, so that our customers can rely on a permanently high system quality, which is checked independently of manufacturers. Italian class 1 fire certificate for the IBC SOLAR Line modules

Fire safety plays an important role in Italy, particularly when it comes to photovoltaic modules. The country-specific provisions are even more strict here than the EU standard. For us this means that since 2013 we have been working with a specialised laboratory, accredited by the Italian interior ministry, for the analysis of fire safety classes for poly and monocrystalline modules in the IBC SOLAR Line. Visit to the IBC SOLAR test facility III: Performance measurement

A walk through our test facility allows you to immerse yourself in the history of photovoltaics. Modules from many generations, some already a decade and a half old, show how technology has changed. Guest author and product manager René Schüler presents special test objects in a blog series and provides background knowledge to cell technologies and typical ageing effects. Using thermographic images, he looks into the interior of the modules in the last part of our series. (more…)

Visit to the IBC SOLAR test facility I: Polycrystalline modules through the ages

The blog series starts with a comparison between polycrystalline modules from 2004 and 2018. (more…)
