Photovoltaics in Poland – a rapid development

If you think of photovoltaics (PV) and renewable energy, Poland is probably not necessarily one of the countries that immediately comes to mind. After all, coal continues to dominate in Poland and the country is almost completely dependent on it, especially when it comes to heating and electricity. According to the Polish Photovoltaic Society, solar energy only accounts for less than one percent of the energy mix. But the latest developments show that this will soon change. Spain and the boom in solar energy

If you look at the list of European countries that have attracted attention in recent years with a strong increase in solar energy, there is no way around Spain. No other country is currently experiencing such a large PV boom. Spain breaks its records of newly installed capacity year after year. For example, from 135 megawatts (MW) in 2017 to a total of 551 MW (2018). And the latest forecasts are also impressive and show a further increase in 2020 with 4.9 gigawatts (GW) of newly installed services. We are a member of SolarPower Europe

IBC SOLAR joined the SolarPower Europe association in the beginning of January this year. The European-wide association is managed by its members and represents almost 40 countries. In this way, SolarPower Europe networks a large number of companies, organizations and industry in the renewable energy sector. The goal: more energy should be generated from solar than any other energy source by 2030. (more…)
