An innovative PV project in Poland

496 photovoltaic panels, a capacity of 164 kWp and four 17-story buildings in Poznan, the capital of Wielkopolska region. These were the specifications of the latest solar project of IBC SOLAR in Poland. Together with one of our Premium Partners, a complex PV installation was installed on the roofs of four 17-story buildings of the Poznan Housing Cooperative Winogrady. Another positive step for solar energy in Poland. (more…)

Nighttime Science

Science does not only take place during the day in the laboratory, but from time to time also at night. In the PV sector in particular, there are also often so-called outdoor measurements on site. For example, in addition to their work in the laboratory, the scientists at HI-ERN (Helmholtz Institute Erlangen-Nürnberg) also carry out these kind of measurements in the form of experiments and test series using existing PV systems in operation. As a result of current research activities in a joint German project, funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, two prototypes for outdoor photoluminescence measurements were recently evaluated on a wide variety of module concepts at our test facility in Bad Staffelstein. Modules & mounting systems: The right combination matters

Module damage on the roof is unquestionably annoying and can quickly become stressful. It is small consolation when the product guarantees are still effective and one can in theory call the manufacturers to get everything done. It actually sounds pretty simple. Unfortunately, practice shows that the manufacturers of the various components sometimes do not agree which guarantees should apply to which product. Discussions are inevitable in these situations. The new combation warranty from IBC SOLAR provides a remedy here and allows stress-free processing in the event of damage.  (more…)

Hybrid inverters conquer the market

Everyone is currently talking about hybrid inverters, i.e. the combination of photovoltaic and battery inverters. No wonder, because they offer decisive advantages. These devices are particularly efficient, flexible and combine two essential products of a photovoltaic system –   the inverter and the solar battery. Conversely, for the user this means that both space and costs are saved and, of course, less installation work is required. Another plus point of these combination devices is the possibility of a back-up function in case of an emergency. (more…)

Tougher than any everyday life – PV module testing

At IBC SOLAR, we have placed our main focus on quality. For many years now, IBC SOLAR has been subjecting every module in its portfolio to rigorous, multi-stage quality tests. In this case, we have gone even one step further and test our modules in conjunction with our assembly systems. Only this way, can we guarantee maximum safety and the best possible quality. Where do these tests take place? In the new PV test laboratory SUNLAB. (more…)
