The Enphase System in the IBC SOLAR Test_Part I

“This is really easy!” – was the conclusion of an IBC SOLAR colleague when setting up our small Enphase laboratory test system. Yes, the Enphase storage systems can do a lot. However, the simplicity of the system was one of the main reasons for IBC SOLAR to add it to the portfolio at the end of April. But what actually makes the system so special and how is the setup, commissioning and operation of an Enphase PV system with the new Encharge storage system? That’s exactly what we want to look at in this two-part blog series. To start with: For the test setup, we converted one of our colleague’s string systems to an Enphase system including the new Encharge storage. But first, let’s get to the basics and the individual components: (more…)

When it doesn’t get any greener

It is becoming increasingly important for companies to make a contribution to climate protection while at the same time expanding their perception in the area of corporate social responsibility. In addition, the potential of photovoltaics is enormous, especially in the commercial sector, so that many companies throughout Europe are investing in green energy. The prerequisites are certainly given with correspondingly large roof and commercial areas. This was also the case for the Dutch company Capi. Therefore, the manufacturer of sustainable design flower pots did not hesitate for long and invested in a PV plant with a capacity of 1.69 MW. (more…)

Full power with PV

E-mobility is the future. Latest figures clearly confirm this trend. The number of newly registered electric vehicles is increasing from year to year. In order to make this concept work, however, a good charging infrastructure is required in addition to the e-vehicles. The Dresen car dealership from Korschenbroich in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany also wanted to make this accessible to its customers and employees, but the corresponding network connection capacity was lacking. The solution resulted in a comprehensive and individual overall PV system. (more…)

Supplier portrait: Enphase – Microinverters for the small difference on the roof

Unlike classic PV systems, in a microinverter system each solar module gets its own inverter. And it is installed directly on the roof under the module. On the one hand, this creates space in the house connection room, and on the other hand, shading on the roof is compensated for in the best possible way. A great technology for the homeowner. Our new partner Enphase is one of the leading suppliers of this microinverter technology. The company is one of the few to produce fully integrated solar energy and storage solutions and has already shipped more than 34 million microinverters. Reason enough for us to take a look at the success story of the American manufacturer. (more…)
